Hope Family Ministries officially began May 12, 1995. But God began preparing Bro. Mike for work with Hope Family Ministries during the month of April 1987, which is when he became a born again believer. God gave him a hunger for His Word, a passion to share the “Good News” of the gospel, and the understanding that He was calling him to vocational Christian Ministry. Many of the truths and Bible studies used in our Biblical Counseling work go back to that 8 year period of healing and equipping. This healing not only helped him and his marriage but also helped prepare his son for adulthood.

"Even before the ministry began, people who wanted to, came over to our house to talk. All I knew to do was to attempt to connect with something they felt, and take them to God’s Word. It was quite common to hear people say, 'When I came here I had no hope. Nothing has changed in my life, but I now have hope. I know the next step."
From the very beginning God made it clear this was to be a non-profit ministry that did not charge a fee for the services it provided. Within 15 months of beginning the ministry on a part time basis, the demand for service forced a decision. Bro. Mike quit his job as a skilled craftsman. We stepped out on faith without a dime of the budget pledged.
Across these 15 years God has blessed with many healed marriages and relationships. We’ve gone from part-time in our home to owning 2.2 acres of land with a 4,400 square foot facility. We now have 6 full time employees, 4 of which are counselors. God has also provided a wonderful group of people to serve on our Board of Directors, to pray for and support the ministry.
Our desire is to see individuals, couples, and families healed and restored. Our goal is to offer hope, encouragement, reconciliation, direction and skills for living, as people explore their relationship with Jesus and others.
